Worked as advertized
Bought this primarily for a stud finder to replace and old one. I will give a review of all the features. This item was easy to use, however it is important to remember to go slow. This review is in hopes you already know to put it against the wall or whatever structure you are using it on.First, appearance. Nothing special, decent screen, lights up when you press the button, easy to read.To use: When you press the button you have to wait about 1-2 seconds. You will see a full bar on the screen that will drop and then beep. You are now ready to go.Stud finder: To test this before putting unnecessary holes in the wall I attached a 2x4 to a 1/2 inch plywood to test it. It found the 2x4 every time both horizontal and vertical. I then tried it on a drywall where I knew where the studs were. Found them every time. I then went to the wall I need to find the studs. It worked flawless, no extra holes. The stud setting also has a symbol that tells you if there are electrical current behind the wall. I tested it around electrical plugs and switches. Every time I got close to them the electrical indicator came on. Pretty good safety feature. Note: I have metal studs in my house and the stud setting found them with no issues.Deep scan: This seemed to function with no issues as well. Tried it and it picked up items about 1-2 inches from the surface.Metal: This also seemed to find metal in the wall. I didn't tear the wall apart to see what it actually found.AC: This is good if you have unattached wires and want to determine if they are live. I tries it around a socket and switch. As I was moving it around each one nothing. As soon as I put it over them it alerted me there was live power.Overall I thing this is a very good product that seems to function as advertised. I did drop it onto a concrete floor, by accident, it just bounced once and that was it. It still worked fine and there were no noticeable damage.I would recommend this item as it worked flawlessly for me every time I used it. Just remember to go slow and you should have no issues.

Good, easy to use stud finder that does not break the bank.
Just received this wall scanner today. The packaging was a very plain cardboard box, which I suppose is environmentally good. The manual is a folded piece of paper with small print but it does the job. First impression is that the construction seems very āplasticā but it seems to work well. I have owned Zircon units in the past that seemed more sturdy but I always had problems with false readings and other issues with them. I tested the Vivreal on multiple walls in my house. I found the AC warning to be very sensitive - again not a bad thing. The stud edge detection and center indication works very well indeed and is the main use I will have of this device. It is also very light and comfortable to use. I like the LCD display with the various indicators, but I do wish it had a laser / LED type light to mark a center area on the wall. Having said that, the center indicator is clear - just would be better with a light. So far it has worked well. I give it 4 stars. With a center light and a more sturdy feel I would probably give it 5 stars. Time will tell how it holds up! Overall, a good stud finder for the money.

Buy it! buy it! buy it! Worth every penny and then some
This is the first one I personally have ever owned though Iāve used them quite a bit in the past. Now idk how or why I struggled for all those years drilling umpteen holes in walls and ceilings trying to find a stud then having to patch all of them up wasting precious time and energy. Itās very user friendly (and Iām one of the ātechnologically illiterateā types) theirs only one button and a switch to operate to switch between stud metal and wire super easy just press it against the wall hold the button in (after selecting your mode of course ie stud metal or wire) wait for the 10 second countdown to stop and then move it around until the arrows tell u exactly where the stud or whatever your searching for is Mark it with the other hand and then drill your hole or whatever you need to do itās soo simple compared to some of them and the price is just right not too expensive that a working joe canāt afford it and not to cheap that you know your getting a piece of junk.Iām a millwright by trade and though this isnāt exactly in my every day use toolbox itās there for when I need it and it works great it also powers itself off so you donāt have to fuss with constant turning on and off bs that irritates you and without it kills your batteryās Iāve had one set of batteryās in it since I got it and theyāre still good and itās been probably a year since I purchased it (granted this isnāt every day use) but still it doesnāt waste power so your saving money all ways around. The only way I wouldnāt recommend this is if for some reason you do professional walling that you might need super deep deeper than this is rated for but I highly doubt your gonna run into that because though I donāt remember now what it is or was I researched before buying this so I knew that I wouldnāt have trouble doing roofs in old houses with super thick plaster wood etc and Iāve never run into an issue with depth with this....ever!
