Dynamode USB External Floppy Disc Drive

I am most impressed with this excellent little gadget. At a great price and with quick delivery, it worked straight out of the box and does exactly what it claims. I was able to recover some treasured data with no fuss, using windows XP. Just load the drivers disc, then plug in the USB lead and you have it up and working faultlessly.So ignore those negative reviews and buy this little gem - you'll be happy you did. Well done Dynamode!

I found it very useful. It did what it was supposed to do and I was able to check on a lot of old 3.5 disks. It was interesting to see the difference in the size of the storage devices for yesteryear and today

This is an excellent buy for those who did not transfer backed up information stored on this older floppy disk storage format. The drive was easy to load and the device easy to use; especially for those less technicaly minded. Although the extended use is limited, the information that I was able to recover was invaluable and well worth the price I paid. Currenlty I am sharing the device with friends in a similar situation, hanging onto old floppy disks in the hope of retrieving the data.Seller dispatched the item promptly and well within the estimated time.

Won't format a disk. Won't read one. Won't write to one. All the things you'd want to do with a floppy disk, this does none of them. Tried on Windows 10, Windows XP and Linux (Ubuntu 18.04). The floppy disks I was using are fine as they worked on another machine with a regular built-in floppy disk on that.

I had some old floppy discs that I needed to transfer to a more up to date storage media. This worked straight from the box, just plugged it into a rear USB socket (they do have a bit more current than front ones on a tower pc) and went straight to work.For a tenner, it was pretty good value for money. It also saved a lot of faffing about trying to get Windows 7 to read my pc's built in floppy drive which it just wouldn't do. I gather this is a common problem on Windows 7 and above.

Windows 7 doesn't like it, it sees it but unless you bios it as a boot drive it doesn't work. I wanted it for my excellent Sony Mavica that takes 3.5" discs - over 10yrs old but still great, but I can't use it. Contacted Dell and they don't support 3.5" media at all. So I sent it back months ago and haven't heard anything since. Not a happy bunny :-(

As an entertainer still using the odd 'midi file', which my keyboard reads via floppy, I needed a quick method to take the files from my PC to the disc. Found this product and it works perfectly. I found no use for the supplied mini CD containing drivers for Win 98, Win ME & Win 2000 as Vista recognised and installed the relevant drivers. The advantage of having this USB floppy drive is that it's easily transferable from laptop to PC, whereas paying £5-£10 for a floppy drive and installing in my PC would obviously give limitations.A simple product that does what it supposed to do. Delivered a day earlier than scheduled too!

Il lettore collegato al mio macbook pro (anno 2010) con OSX 10.6 è stato riconosciuto subito senza dover ricorrere ad ulteriori installazioni di driver. Legge sia il formato 1.44 mb che 0.720 mb. Tutti i miei vecchi floppy contenenti le basi musicali MIDI elaborate con software musicali utilizzati sia su Atari che Windows, sono stati riconosciuti e caricati nella memoria del mio macbook pro e riutilizzati con il nuovo software musicale Logic studio 9. Inoltre nell'utilizzo del programma "Virtual box" e l'installazione virtuale di Windows XP, sempre tramite macbook pro, il lettore viene riconosciuto senza problemi anche dal sistema operativo virtuale e, quindi, anche le vecchie elaborazioni su Windows con il software musicale "Kakewalk" e "Sonar" salvate su floppy, vengono lette e caricate nel sistema per poi essere riutilizzate....soldi ben spesi.Grazie.

Con Windows 7 il dispositivo funziona bene; purtroppo, sul mio PC (Sony Vaio VPCEB3Z1E) l'estrazione del disco e il reinserimento di uno nuovo non sortisce effetti; son costretto a staccare il cavo USB, cambiare dischetto, e riconnettere il cavo USB: solo in questo modo il nuovo dischetto viene riconosciuto.Abbastanza silenzioso, il rumore tipico riporta indietro di 20 anni, ma è un effetto vintage veramente piacevole...

DYNAMODE LETTORE FLOPPY ESTERNO CON CAVO USB e' un po difficoltoso nell' inserimento del floppy va e non va saluti

questo funziona,perchè il premo speditomi da Amazon non funzionava,comunque questo tutto ok,il computer lo ha riconoscuto senza problemi,Ha caricato i suoi driver in un attimo,ho provato la lettura di vecchi floppy perfetto.Voglio quì ringraziare il servizio clienti Amazon,per la loro professionalità,veramente bravi gentili disponibili un ringraziamento particolare all'operatrice che mi ha assistito"grazie Margherita" per la sostituzione del prodotto,2gg veramente incredibile.Grazie ancora

Ho acquistato questo lettore ad un prezzo più alto rispetto a quelli che si trovano in giro perché leggendo le caratteristiche e i vari commenti, questo avrebbe dovuto leggere non solo i floppy da 1.44 ma anche quelli da 720kb ( tra l'altro è scritto anche sulla confezione) cosa purtroppo non vera, è possibile leggere solo quelli 1.44. Sono veramente infastidito, anche perché a questo punto avrei potuto acquistare un lettore più economico.... FREGATURA!
