Works fine for video
I'm using this to run a Sony A7 III in as a web cam, so using video mode with HDMI capture set up. No issues with heat or power stability.Nice to be able to pull power from my monitor's USB-C port rather than have yet another power brick.

Listen to the other reviews
I made a mistake on buying this, not reliable and stopped working. Avoid this at all cost, now I’m outside the return period! $30 into the trash can it goes…

Works
Good dummy battery.

Stays on both devices
Last thing you want is for a cable to disconnect. This one has worked perfectly for my setup and stays on even as I am running and gunning!

Doesnt work
Doesn't work with a Sony A7RV. Which is a shame, I really wanted to use this in conjunction with an external battery for cold weather astrophotography.

How Much Do You Value Your Gear?
I have a Sony FX-3, A7IV and A7cII. Sony doesn't recommend using these dummy batteries and has removed the little notch they used to put on battery doors to allow for the cable to a dummy battery (but lots of people use them anyway). I had never used one, but tried this one in all three of my cameras, and have decided never to use itagain. All three of my cameras got very hot within 10 minutes of use. I'm very familiar with the heat profiles of my cameras, and they had never gotten this hot with just 10 minutes of use. This is very strange, because one of the advantages of a dummy battery is supposed to be that they don't get hot, since the acutal battery is outside of the camera. I'm no engineer, but given Sony's warning against using dummy batteries and the heat issue, I decided I didn't want to risk a $4,000 camera on a $32 dummy battery. While the product worked, it's not something I could recommend with a clear conscience.

Not support Sony A1 camera with fast shooting mode.
When using Sony A1 camera with fast shooting mode, it turn off power in 2 seconds, it not provide enough juice to support the camera.
