Hoodia gordonii or the Kalahari cactus, as it's sometimes called, is a spiny succulent that grows in parts of South Africa, Botswana and Nambia. Traditionally used by natives of these regions to promote appetite suppressing effects, this weight loss supplement has been increasingly embraced by western culture over the last few decades. Its ability to support a reduced appetite is mostly centered around a molecule within the plant known as P57. Coupled with proper diet or a low-calorie diet, and a healthy amount of exercise, taking a hoodia gordonii supplement may be an excellent plant-based, stimulant-free way to support a weight management.
